I hope you have enjoyed reading some of my predictions as to the possible trends in the application of technology in education by 2035. As I have found in all three possibilities, technology has a great impact on how students learn, thus impacting learning theory. I am looking forward to reading any comments you have left as I would love to be challenged and made aware of any predictions you may have.
2 months after publication of the initial blog: Hello! I have had the chance to read through the comments left under each of my posts and have found some very interesting predictions which are invaluable to my work. The point made by Bridgeman (Bridgeman and Bridgeman, 2008) was the most important as to what we will see in technology and education in 15 years. The recognition that the future of both technology and education are dependent upon the economic state of the country is very valid. Without the money to fund the technological developments, expansion of educational technology will end. I also agree with the individual who noted the important relationship between constructivist learning theory and educational technology. The points raised showed me how technology, in any form, is providing students with more stimuli than teaching without technology does. This enables learners to be passionate and engaged due to their greater opportunities to participate in lessons, learning is becoming more active as technology develops.
