HOW HAS THE SCHOLARSHIP HELPED SUPPORT YOUR STUDIES?
I have used the majority of the monies for child care costs as when my father passed away he paid some towards the child care and I just wouldn’t have been able to afford to continue to attend University without the money you gave to me. A BIG THANK YOU goes to everybody that believed in me. I have used some of the money to pay for parking nearer to University as I have some good and bad days and I just cant walk too far( on top of cancer, aches and pains and now trapping a nerve in my leg). But I am still here at University as I am so motivated and committed to this course and doing something that I have wanted to do in a long time.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?
Being resilient and making it to the 2nd year of the Degree of Bachelor of science. Outside of University getting married and having my daughter.
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?
This is my 2nd Year as an Occupational therapy student and once qualified I want to focus on working and specialising on supporting and caring for people living with dementia in the community. Alternatively, I would like to work in occupational therapy for servicemen and women, helping them address physical, psychological, and social challenges related to their service. Adapting daily activities and environments to enhance independence and well-being.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY TO DONORS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED YOUR SCHOLARSHIP?
The financial assistance you provided will be of great help to me in paying some of my daughter’s childcare costs, and it will allow me to concentrate more on my full time studying rather than working full time. I am now working only part time which makes a huge difference.
Thank you again for your generosity and support. Because of the opportunity you have provided me. I hope to one day give back and help other students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.
