IF YOU STUDIED YOUR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME AT YORK ST JOHN UNIVERSITY OR FOUNDER COLLEGES, DID YOU GO ON TO POSTGRADAUTE STUDY?
No.
WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN THIS PHOTO AS YOUR YSJ SNAPSHOT?
I have chosen the following photos as they are from the past 3 years world book days we have celebrated at Adel Beck. They also represent the many characters I play on a daily basis working with challenging behaviour at a secure unit.

WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND YSJ TO SOMEONE?
I would recommend YSJ as it gave me the opportunity to find my niche and through placements I did at uni I found my passion in music and working with young people with SEMH.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YORK ST JOHN UNIVERSITY OR FOUNDER COLLEGES?
I chose my course because it offered everything I was interested in music production and music performance.
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING SINCE COMPLETING YOUR STUDIES?
Since leaving YSJ I started as a HLTA at Adel Beck, I then got promoted to lead music instructor and head of the music department. I am also an interventions coach specialising in trauma informed practices.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR SPECIFIC COURSE?
I chose my specific course because it allowed me to do work placements that I would not of known or had access to.
WHAT WERE THE BEST FEATURES OF YOUR COURSE?
The community music, it was amazing and the lectures were fantastic and engaging. The placements that I went on such as Tanghall smart creating music workshops with SEN children. The prison partnership project which allowed me to run music workshops in prisons.
HOW DID STUDYING AT YSJ HELP IN YOUR CAREER SEARCH/SUCCESS/CURRENT ROLE?
It helped my success by giving me the ability to formally communicate in professional settings through presentations and performances. I learnt how to facilitate music workshops in various settings and it gave me experience I needed when it came to applying for my current job.
WHAT ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A CURRENT STUDENT, OR ONE ABOUT TO GRADUATE?
I would say take every opportunity that comes your way. If you are just about to graduate know your worth and what you specialise in.
