Discussing Decolonisation: Decolonial Approaches to Knowledge Production – In-person workshop with Dr rashné limki

On Wednesday 29th April 2026, we will host Dr rashné limki from the University of Edinburgh for an in-person workshop as part of the ongoing Discussing Decolonisation series at York St John University.

Workshop title: Decolonial approaches to knowledge production:

This workshop explores the meaning of coloniality and its implication in the production and presentation of knowledge. In so doing, it aims to lay the foundation for developing decolonial praxis. The workshop will proceed through collective reading and conversation.

Facilitator bio:

rashné limki is Senior Lecturer in Work, Race and Decolonial Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Her academic thinking and writing focus mainly on the role of coloniality in the world as is, and the possibilities for decolonisation. She occasionally blogs at rashne.me.

This session is part of a two-part event at York St John University, and follows on from a hybrid panel discussion on data colonialism and the politics of ‘AI’ in the morning.
