A former teacher at California School for the Deaf and a founder of the National Theatre of the Deaf, Bernard Bragg was regarded by many as one of the leading deaf actors in the American industry.
The video below is a beautiful performance by Bragg in visual vernacular called ‘The Pilot and The Eagle’. He also trained in mime and incorporates some aspects of it into his performances, allowing hearing individuals to also be able to interpret the story.
