Born deaf, Christine Sun Kim is an amazing American artist who incorporates her deaf identity into her artwork. She cleverly includes ideas of sound via the use of musical notes as seen below. She also brings her personal experiences into her work, expressing them in enjoyable pieces of media.

Underneath is linked a TedTalk by Christine Sun Kim, describing her own experience with sound as a deaf individual. She discusses how she has found similarities between American Sign Language (ASL) and music and how she feels you don’t necessarily need to be hearing to “experience (music) as an idea”.
The following is a screenshot of Christine performing the American national anthem at the Superbowl 2020. This is just one example of her performances that she has gained lots of praise for.
