Calling all third Year and Postgraduate students!
The Creative Writing students of the 2nd year Publishing, Production and Performance module are seeking writing and cover art for Beyond the Walls, an anthology presenting work by YSJ students. This is an outstanding platform to showcase your writing, as the anthology will be published and distributed internationally by Valley Press.
We are also seeking visual art, photography or design images for the cover of this anthology.
Additionally, several of the published writers will be asked to read out their work at the Beyond the Walls student showcase event on 24th March in the De Grey Lecture Theatre as part of York Literature Festival.
We are looking for fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction on the subject of Contemporary Change, commenting on the way things are changing around you, whether they be changes worldwide or domestic.
We are also seeking visual art, photography or design images for the cover of this anthology.
Submission Guidelines:
- You may submit up to three pieces of writing, in more than one form, each as a separate Word document.
- Prose Fiction and Non-Fiction – Maximum 1200 words
- Poetry – Maximum 50 lines per poem
- You may submit up to three images for the cover art, as JPGs or with a link to a portfolio.
- Please include in the email your full name, year group, programme of study, and the title(s) of your submission(s) along with which form they take.
- Please also specify whether or not you would be comfortable reading out your piece of writing at the student showcase event.
