Dr. Carol A. Padden an author wrote many books based around deaf cultures in the US and ASL. Her main area of research are Language emergence, sign language structure and cultural life in deaf communities.

Her books include “Deaf in America” and “Inside deaf Culture”.

 

 

Background

Padden was born in Washington DC to a deaf parents, she attended the first two grades at Kendall school for the deaf on the Galluadet campus. (Galluadet is a university that is focused on Deaf and hard of hearing studies).
