Edgelands theatre

Edgelands theatre formed in 2018 as part of the Contemporary Performance Practice module. This has given me the opportunity to work in a company environment and has supported me in developing my skills in collaborative theatre.  As a company we are interested in exploring our relationship as humans to objects and environments. 

Our manifesto

We aim to create theatre and movement by asking questions about:

The ecological nature of objects

The theoretical nature of objects and the different rules they possess.

The ontological rules of objects.

The possibilities and potential of objects

Experimenting with objects

Considering objects as ontologically equals to human-beings.

Questioning how humans use objects, and how we don’t use objects

Also, why we use objects in certain situations and why don’t we use them in certain situations

The ecological values of objects and the energy they hold

Understanding the materialistic elements and the structure of objects.
