Writing After Beckett

Writing after Beckett

Attached are some Examples of my writing from the Writing after Beckett module during my second year. This was a great opportunity to explore different types of writing and writers. Some of the works are individual pieces and some are collaborative with my peers on the module. This module gave me a passion for the theatre of the absurd and supported me in developing my skills as a writer. My performance writing is based on autobiographical experiences and plays with the idea of repetition and pauses. My writing also take interest and draws upon the idea of small talk and conversations you have on a day to day basis. This can vary from the conversations you hear whilst out in public to the conversations you have with your friends, family, and strangers. Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, Caryl Churchill, Steve Pemberton, and Reece Shearsmtih have inspired my performance writing.
