I am a third year Drama and Theatre student at York St John University on track to receiving a first class degree. It is my belief as an artist and performer that we can use our creativity as a platform to challenge the wrongs that we observe. This mentality has affected both my practical and written work and Over my time as York St John my work primarily focuses on the experiences of women. This has developed into what I would personally consider my own specialism, particularly in my academic writings. This has moved out into my personal life as well, volunteering at a York based women’s charity and having the opportunity through the York St John prison partnership project to observe drama workshops in a women’s prison. Through these experiences I have developed my understanding of feminist issues and it is because of this I hope to pursue a career working with and for women’s charities.
This website/portfolio allows me to share the work I have created over my time at York St John and form my own documentation of some of my favourite past projects. I hope you enjoy it!
