The work experience I undertook with Alpha Love-Koh, the University solicitor, was an incredibly valuable insight into a role within the legal profession that I had not considered before. It allowed me to compare the role of an in-house solicitor with that of a solicitor in a law firm, which is very helpful when considering my future legal career. My experience included attending meetings to negotiate terms of contracts to ensure they complied with the law, assessing and updating some of the University’s policies, as well as drafting advice notes to clients. I am very grateful for the opportunity as it has allowed me to consider other routes into the legal profession and experience different areas of the law that I have studied in practice.
