The next series of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Breakfast Cafes have been announced. Tea, Coffee and Croissants will be provided at the sessions.

Moodle Assignments – bulk upload student grades and feedback.

Don’t have time to attend the two hours Moodle Assignment training session? Well this session is for you! In this Breakfast Café you will be shown how to bulk upload students grades and feedback into Moodle.  This new feature is designed to help tutors who teach large cohorts of students by enabling you to perform actions in bulk, rather than individually.

Creating Course Blogs with WordPress

WordPress is a online platform that allows you (individually or collaboratively) create websites and blogs. Staff and students have access to WordPress here at York St John University  – so why not come along to this Breakfast Café to find out how you can use WordPress in your Teaching and Learning.

Creating Screencasts and Podcasts
Thursday 5th December, 8am-9am – SK/036

Screencasts and Podcasts are a great way to provide engaging learning resources to students, whether it’s explaining assessment criteria, summarising the key points of a lecture, or providing video demonstrations. In this Breakfast Café we will look at the technologies available to create these resources and some techniques to help streamline the process.

Using the (iOS) TurnItIn App
Tuesday 10th December, 8am-9am – SK/036

Interested in using TurnItIn on your iPad? Then pop along to this breakfast café to find out more. Mark assignments offline on your iPad and sync them back to the system when you have a wifi connection.

Daniel Mackley

Daniel’s role is to identify staff learning needs and strategically design, deliver and evaluate development interventions related to the effective use of current and emerging Technology Enhanced Learning tools in Higher Education. Working to the Learning & Teaching Development annual objectives and the TEL quality framework, he pro-actively supports and develops staff in their use of technology to enhance the student learning experience. Daniel is also the lead for the teams iPad Project.
