Jisc Student Summer of Innovation 2015

elevatorlogoThe Student Summer of Innovation 2015 competitions are now open for entries at the Jisc Elevator Site.

Do you have a brilliant idea that could improve education or research? Elevator is Jisc’s open innovation platform. It supports the exploration of new ideas that use technology to enhance education, research and student life in higher education, further education and skills. If you have an idea that you want to explore then you can submit it to one of the open or upcoming elevators.

Jisc are awarding funding and support to students and start-ups who come up with a brilliant idea for using technology to transform learning or research in further education, universities and work-based learning. In the past, teams have been successful with ideas like bringing together researchers and participants, an app to help people learn languages, and tech to improve lectures.

Last year the scheme had 37 entries, attracting over 8,400 votes from 160 institutions and they hope to encourage even more this year, which is why they’ve created four competitions to suit different teams including one aimed and Further Education learners and one at apprentices.

Apply by uploading a short video explaining your idea to the Jisc Elevator Site, where you can also find further details of each competition.

Thank you for your help with the promotion of this opportunity to your students.

If you have any questions about the competitions, please contact Paul Bailey paul.bailey@jisc.ac.uk.
