Gaining a National Teaching Award (NTA) for teaching excellence is incredibly competitive but for those who are successful, it can be beneficial both for individuals and the institutions in which they teach. Whilst there are no financial incentives offered, the kudos and opportunities opened by this recognition can have a significant positive impact on your career.

Nominees

Every year, universities in the UK who are AdvanceHE subscribers, are able to put forward colleagues who are deemed to be exceptional in relation to learning and teaching; these chosen few are called ‘nominees’.

Here at York St John, we offer an open, transparent and structured route to NTA nomination. We want to develop a pipeline of potential nominees, so even if you are not put forward as an official nominee, you will be given support and offered developmental opportunities to help position you as a future nominee. If you are good enough to be a designated nominee, you will receive dedicated support, advice, guidance and feedback to help with your written submissions.
