Personal profile
I have been a student at York St John since September 2017, studying Drama, Education and Community as a BA honours degree. My studies will finalise in May 2020, where I will then go on to graduate in November. Throughout this degree it has been a balance of me showing my performance skills through creating and being in performances, as well as facilitating different groups by running drama workshops. I am passionate about both performance and helping different communities to create a piece of theatre that holds significance to them. Throughout my time at York St John, it has helped me realise that I am wanting to go down the path of drama therapy; expanding my experience and knowledge further by doing a postgraduate in applied theatre. By choosing certain modules that are significant for my chosen career, it has given me the experience to work with different types of communities, whether that is being adults or children. I have equipped the skills to work as a team but also to be confident in how I am facilitating; ensuring that I take some sort of leadership role.
