Message in a Bottle Submission
After 1984, by María Seijo-Richart
Today, Big Brother spoke: “Our former allies are now our enemies. Their workforce must be regarded with suspicion and treated like hostages”.
Minutes later, this photo and this message were shared and viewed by everybody in the clandestine net: “I don’t know who Julia and Winston were. I don’t know what happened to them. I only know I found this note in an abandoned building, when I was a child, and I’ve kept it ever since. So today, I want you to remember: “When society demands your hate, love is the biggest act of rebellion”.
Dr. María Seijo-Richart has an International PhD in English at the University of A Coruña (Spain) and a MA in World Cinema at the University of Leeds, where she currently works. Her science fiction favourites are the two Rays: Bradbury and Harryhausen. María enjoys writing fiction, especially epic stories about female warriors.
