Academic Tuition aims to provide every undergraduate and taught postgraduate student at York St John University with the support they need to fulfil their potential and develop the academic and disciplinary/professional skills required to become independent and creative learners.
Three key actors exist in the Academic Tuition process – Academic Tutors, Student Experience Leads and Tutees (students). Effective Academic Tuition ensures that students receive appropriate advice and academic support and promotes a sense of belonging that is fundamental to student engagement. A mutual commitment from all three parties involved in the process is key to making this happen.
