Looking After Your Own Wellbeing

Being an Academic Tutor can be an interesting, varied and occasionally demanding role. If you are to be effective in supporting your tutees, it is vital that you take care of your own wellbeing. Taking care of your own mental health is as equally important as your physical health, and it is important to make sure that both your physical and mental health remain in good condition.

Some top tips for maintaining or improving your own mental health:

  • Eat fresh foods
  • Avoid sugary foods which can cause energy peaks
  • Exercise can help to improve motivation, concentration and clear the mind
  • Relax after working to ensure that the mind is settled before sleeping
  • Drink a herbal tea
