The Shadow of the Wind – Carlos Ruiz Zafón

Any story that begins in a mysterious library of forgotten books is a winner for me.
Full of intrigue and mystery from the outset. How one book, more particularly one author, can have such a profound and devastating impact on so many.
The story takes you on many twists and turns though the backstreets of 20th century Barcelona with young Daniel Sempere and his rogue sidekick Fermín Romero de Torres, meeting a cast of vivid, unusual and often unsettling characters along the way.
I was gripped from beginning to end, if you love a good plot twist, this is a story for you.
