We’re now in day 2 of the global campaign, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This years’ theme is ‘End digital violence against all women and girls’ and highlights the importance of building supportive, safe and empowering digital spaces, against the worrying increase in online misogynistic abuse online.

We’ve put together a book display in the Library with some reading materials relating to the campaign, which you can find on the Ground Floor next to the Relaxed Reads collection. You can find a mix of fiction and non-fiction: novels focusing on trauma, gendered discrimination, community and healing; and scholarly texts exploring contemporary issues around misogyny, gender-based violence, discrimination and domestic abuse, as well as books relating to this year’s digital focus. You can also find information about the University’s Report and Support service, and information about consent.

If you would like to borrow any of the books on the display, you can do so in the usual way using the self-issue machines. If you would like to access support related to any of the issues covered by the books, you can do so via the the Student Hub Wellbeing and Welfare help pages.
