Why have you chosen this photo as your YSJ snapshot?

These photos represent the incredible journey at York Business School that has culminated into a successful career in two reputable public universities in Germany. I left YSJ eight years ago as a fresh graduate full of hopes and dreams and I’m back at YSJ as a visiting lecturer through Erasmus+ exchange.

I look forward to returning to YSJ in future as a full-time lecturer .

What are your fondest memories of York St John University?

Wonderful staff and vibrant student life. As a black person, I never realized how inclusive, friendly, diverse and supportive YSJ was until I moved to Germany. I can now confidently call YSJ a paradise. It is definitely the best place to live and work (especially for people of colour).

Why did you choose York St John University or founder colleges?

I chose YSJ because of its good reputation and high quality teaching and learning. The gorgeous and historic York City was an added advantage.

What have you been doing since completing your studies?

Project management and lecturing. I’ve also been involved in mentoring young people in Germany and Africa.

What one piece of advice would you give to a current student, or one about to graduate?

Be confident, consistent and believe in yourself. For black and minority students, please make good use of the YSJ support network because this is something you may not find elsewhere.
