IF YOU STUDIED YOUR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME AT YORK ST JOHN UNIVERSITY OR FOUNDER COLLEGES, DID YOU GO ON TO POSTGRADUATE STUDY?

WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN THIS PHOTO AS YOUR YSJ SNAPSHOT?

I enrolled in the MBA in Leadership & Management online program in conjunction with Robert Kennedy College. The residency in November 2020 to prepare for the dissertation was supposed to be held on campus, but the university decided to conduct it online instead as the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has not subsided yet. I also missed the graduation ceremony, so when I finally had the chance to travel to the UK on vacation in April, I took the opportunity to visit York. The Alumni Relations Coordinator kindly arranged a comprehensive campus tour for me and my wife.

WHAT ARE YOUR FONDEST MEMORIES OF YORK ST JOHN UNIVERSITY?

The group assignments with fellow students from all corners of the world! They were all conducted by Zoom, but it was fun nonetheless.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YORK ST JOHN UNIVERSITY OR FOUNDER COLLEGES?

I chose York St. John University because it offered a course that appealed to me, and I thought would be useful to my company in the role I am currently in.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING SINCE COMPLETING YOUR STUDIES?

I am a septuagenarian and took up the study at an advanced age after having stepped down in 2018 as CEO of the company I founded almost 18 years ago but continue in a non-executive role as Chairman. My stated objective at the enrollment was to become a better mentor for the team of young professionals in my company as well as the organizations I am still involved in. My expectations are fully met, and I believe that I have learned valuable new skills that enable me to practice mentoring more effectively. I am very active on LinkedIn and will gladly accept invitations to connect from fellow YJSU students and alumni to share experiences.

WHAT ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A CURRENT STUDENT, OR ONE ABOUT TO GRADUATE?

Writing the dissertation is tough and very demanding but you will feel a profound sense of accomplishment upon its completion after a few months of intense concentration.
