On the seventh day of Christmas, York St John gave to me…
Seven historic panels
in 2010 a new piece of artwork was erected in the Heritage Passage through the main front doors of the Quad, the artwork, entitled ‘Alumni Abudantes’ was created by former student Catherine Scriven, and features key moments, people and events in a series of overlapping images on six anodised aluminum panels, covering the history of the University from when it first opened in 1841, right up to 2010.
in 2014, a seventh panel was added to extend the artwork, entitled ‘Exceptional Changes‘ this additional panel completed in the same style includes images from 2010 up to 2014.
The 7 panels together create a magnificent visual representation of the history of York St John, and is one of the highlights for any alumni reunion group who come back to visit, often taking the time to see if they can find themselves hidden away in the artwork!
