On the twelfth day of Christmas, York St John gave to me…
12 months of great alumni
Over the course of 2017, we’ve been acknowledging various alumni for their great work and character with the introduction of our alumnus of the month feature on our website, and with the new year well underway, it seems appropriate to conclude our 12 days of Christmas by taking a look back over some of the alumni we’ve recognised throughout 2017.
Our first alumna of the month for 2017 was Nuala Elwood, back in January. Having graduated from York St John with a MA in Creative Writing in 2012, Nuala had great success with her book ‘My Sister’s Bones’ and in January 2017 was listed by the Guardian as one of their ‘faces of fiction’ to watch out for in 2017. You can read more about Nuala in our blog from earlier in the year.
One of our more recent features, centered on 2017 graduate, Danny Cockroft. Younger brother of 5 time Paralympic gold medalist Hannah Cockroft. Danny has embodied what it means to be part of York St John since the day he arrived, having spent considerable time in a number of student ambassador roles since he enrolled in 2014, and having now graduated, Danny is still here, currently a graduate intern in the University’s Executive Office.
You can read more about some of our recent alumni of the month on our website.
Thank you if you’ve stuck with us for the full 12 days of Christmas, we hope you’ve found it interesting! and once again, Happy New year from everyone at York St John University.
