Our York 10k 2024 team: introducing Lindsey
With less than two months to go until the York 10k 2024, we’d like to introduce you to the team running for our alumni-funded scholarships. Anyone connected to York St John can join our team, including staff, current students and alumni.
In our first blog, we’re introducing Lindsey, an alum of York St John University who graduated in 1998.
What is your favourite memory connected to York St John?
I met my best friend in my first week at YSJ, and we are still best friends almost 30 years on!
What has been the hardest part about training for the 10k so far?
Well I’m only at 6k so far (start of June) but the hardest part has really just been fitting around my global job. The actual running is (mostly) fun.
What has been the best part about training for the 10k?
Running with my husband. It’s quiet time where we can just have a chat.
As part of the team, you are raising money for our alumni-funded scholarships. What motivates you to support our students most in need?
I’m so impressed with the way YSJ has and continues to transform. The more people able to study in this wonderful city, the better!
