Reunions: We can help you reconnect
York St John University thrives on its history, and has always appreciated the way that our alumni are able to bring memories and experiences back to life through reunions. It’s a real privilege for us to support our alumni in planning reunion events, and we’d always encourage anyone thinking about arranging a reunion to get in touch with us, and see how we can help support the event, whether it’s helping make arrangements, promoting it to other alumni, or just to provide some useful tips and guidance to make your event as successful as possible.
In the past, we’ve been honoured to experience and support a wide range of reunion events, including the Old John Association Weekends, Sports and Societies gathers, and 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s reunions, including the class of ‘85’ rugby team reunion playing their annual Old John’s vs Rowntrees Rugby match.
This year, we’re looking forward to welcoming back Peter Harris, and supporting him in arranging a reunion for the class of 1975, calling it ‘40 Years On’. Peter would like to celebrate his 40th anniversary on attending The College of Ripon and York S John with a bang, and would like to shout the message out to anyone who graduated in 1975 as quick as possible to gain numbers. This reunion will take place on the campus from the 24th – 26th July 2015. If you are interested in attending, please do not hesitate to contact Peter on pjayh@btopenworld.com. You can find more information on the York St John Alumni Website.
Our alumni often use reunions like this as a time to reconnect, exchange stories, and converse, whist in the environment and surroundings that started many of them on a new journey. The days usually include meals and nights out around York city centre, formal/informal dinners on campus, tours of the campus, Heritage room visits, and an occasional band and other entertainment on an evening.
We always encourage both Ripon and York St John graduates to get back in touch with the Alumni Office, as we are keen to hear about all reunions happening internally and externally. Since the fold of the Association we would be very honoured to start up a regular reunion, keeping contact with the alumni that have left.
