CPD Week Smörgåsbord

September 20, 2021 - September 24, 2021

Smorgasbord

Colleagues from across the university are invited to choose from a smörgåsbord of tasty sessions. You don’t have to attend the entire week; instead, you are welcome to choose from the options below for a bite-sized piece to suit your personal CPD needs. Most sessions will be useful to colleagues across disciplines within the University, so all welcome!

When is it on?

All the sessions will take place between 10.00am – 12.00pm each day*. For each of the sessions listed, the format will be one of delivery by the CPD facilitators for (approximately) the first hour, followed by the opportunity to put your new learning directly into practice during the second hour through a consolidation activity. You may find it helpful to work with a colleague on this – for example, where you co-run a module – and this would be a useful activity for your Learning and Teaching Partnership(s) for 2021-22.

‘Talk Abouts’

Each professional development ‘slot’ is also accompanied by a sharing good practice talk space (run at the same time) where participants across disciplines can talk about their practice/achievements within five themes: Feedback to students, Decolonisation, Employability, Marking, and Building Learning Communities.

This week-long event is led by Dr Katy Bloom, Senior Lecturer in ITE and the Learning and Teaching Lead for the School of Education, Language and Psychology, who has a track record of education professional development at a national level.

To find out more and book specific sessions, please click on the relevant days at the top of the table.

Please be aware that all sessions will be recorded – but this does mean that you will then be able to later access those flavoursome morsels that you just couldn’t choose between!
