Help me help you: coaching students for personal and academic success.

Abstract

Facilitated by Associate Professor Dr Sarah Crabbe, Director of Student Engagement (YBS), this practical workshop will introduce attendees to coaching frameworks that can be used to support personal success as part of academic tutoring activities.

During the session, colleagues will be given the opportunity to practice coaching approaches, as well as develop personal networks designed to enhance academic tutoring practice.

By the end of the session, colleagues will know how to:

1. Structure and manage individual academic tutorials
2. Use coaching techniques and models for supporting students to find their own solutions 
3. Keep tutorials to time whilst addressing the key issues.
