In this session we will explore methodological considerations, addressing the role of the researcher, data representation, and the ethical considerations necessary when conducting research with vulnerable groups. We will give examples from our own research and share some of the challenges and insights from our experience of conducting research within vulnerable group populations including Refugees and asylum seekers, as well as people living with dementia.
Learning Outcomes:
Be able to identify some theoretical perspectives on the benefits and challenges ages of conducting research with vulnerable groups.
Participants will be encouraged to explore their understanding of relevant research methodologies, techniques and their appropriate application within their own research areas.
