YSJ, Academic Development Programme
Professional Development for Learning, Teaching and Research
Last September, new and existing RIPPLE members came together on campus to share pastries, coffees and ideas about what it means to be part of a ‘community of practice’ that includes students, academics and professional partners.
This year, we will meet again on campus and online to discuss what it means to be part of a community based around not only professional practice, but collective care and solidarity. We will hear some initial thoughts from Dr Sharon Jagger (Religion) and Dr Lynne Lacock (Counselling), and then spend some time discussing together as a group.
During the session, we will also share the draft schedule of events for RIPPLE 2024-25, and ask members for suggestions for themes and readings that we could incorporate into the RIPPLE schedule this year and in future.
This session takes place on Thursday 19th September, 9.30-10.30am, in CC/011 and on MS Teams (hybrid). Emma, Katherine and Lucy will endeavour to provide some pastries but please bring your own coffees or other drinks as the session will not be officially catered.
Please note that we are offering this session as hybrid to include London colleagues and others who need to join online; however, we also hope to hold another welcome session at the London campus soon.
RIPPLE (Research into Professional Practice in Learning and Education) is co-convened by Emma Walker, Katherine Cross and Lucy Potter. If you haven’t come along before, please join us on 19th September to find out more about the group and what we have in store for 2024-25!
