Examples of signs done using GSV, characterised by exaggerated movements and greater wrist flicking, creating a more ‘camp’ signing style (Moges, 2020).
Below is a video of a signed renga (a collaborative poem) created by Rezenet Moges (left), John Meletse (centre) and Daline Maasdorp (right). Within the poem “butch” and “camp” signing styles are used to embody each performers respective identity (Morgan et al 2020).
