From Walmart to national television: How the internet has helped make a 10 year old yodelling boy’s dreams come true.

At the end of last month a video was posted to twitter of a 10 year old Mason Ramsey covering Hank William’s “Lovesick Blues” in the middle of a Walmart in Illinois. The video instantly went viral and was soon being reposted and Mason was being tweeted about worldwide.

The internet then did what it does best and lots of memes were created about the young yodelling boy helping to attract even more attention to the video.

People started to get creative and make their own remixes of the audio, even going as far as making fully produced tracks sampling the yodel.

After the majority of the internet had now seen the video of Mason, his yodelling was then brought to television as he was interviewed and also performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ellen then surprised Mason with his own concert at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee making his dreams of being a country performer come true. He will also be performing a huge concert at his local Walmart, Walmart has also given him a $15,000 college scholarship so that he can pursue his dreams even further.
