The American streetwear brand is using the font “Heavy Oblique variant of Futura” in white with a red square behind the text to allow the lettering to stand out (Best, 2017; Design your way, 2020). The colours of the logo, the Supreme Box, represent power and honesty. (Brand Palette, 2019).
Colour
One of the most important parts of design is colour, which can be used alone or in conjunction with other elements such as line or typography. What makes colour so important to graphic design is that it sets the mood of a work. It can also define the personality of the brand.
As it is said before Supreme uses white and red. White is a colour, like black, that complements everything. This is a popular and timeless colour. However, it should not be overused so as not to create a feeling of emptiness or incompleteness.
Red is the colour of blood and fire. It is often associated with love, passion, desire and strength. Red is one of the most emotionally intense colours (Concept Drop, 2018)
Typography
Typography
Sans serif fonts are considered more modern than serif fonts. They lack the strokes of serif fonts, so the French word “sans”, which means “without”, is used. Sans serif fonts are often used to represent something clean, minimal, friendly or modern (Saltz, 2009).
