On 18 January, the Grounds team hosted a tree planting event at the surrounding grounds at Haxby Road Sports Centre.

We planted the Wild harvest tree pack from the Woodland Trust, this pack contains a mixture of Elder, Rowan, Hazel, Blackthorn, Crab apple and Dog rose trees.

The six of us including the Grounds team, Environment team and our student volunteer planted 240 saplings on the day! The Elder from the pack has been planted amongst the native hedgerows in the Grounds team’s nursey at Haxby Road. If we combine them altogether, there are 340 saplings in total.
