<This was a larger group task, in a crew of 9 people, including myself, we had to plan and produce a 4 to 5 minute short film. We each had our individual jobs to do, mine was the Camera Operator, so before the shooting days that we had planned out, including that of the scheduled studio filming, I drew out storyboards as they are a key part of any production, and were a great help in the short film as a whole, “Storyboards are comic-book like representations of the images in your
production” (Long,Schenk,2014). The plot involved two siblings who meet up after years of no contact, to discuss how their younger brothers death effected them. Because it is a drama/mystery sort of story, the camera shots I would do were really important as they would help set the atmosphere of the story. It is an emotional story so framing of the faces were important, and having these at different angles would make sure the video is still interesting to the viewer, and not just the same camera shot for a whole piece of dialogue. As a group we worked well when filming having minor hold-backs when trying to finalise the story, however everyone did their job and it made the process of making the short film a lot easier.>
