Photography Task

Topic: Behind the Lens.

My theme is focussed on the topic ‘Behind the Lens’ which means capturing moments and places that tell the story of the photographer, the person behind the lens. For this photo, I have used a shallow depth of field to really focus in on the detail that always catches my eye.

The next photo is of one of my favourite places in my hometown. I have used reflection for this photo to highlight the quiet of the are showing that even the water is still and undisturbed.

This photo is taken on a part of a nature walk I regularly go on. The wild trees create a natural shape and frame allowing me to use capture the technique, frame within a frame. This directs the eyes of the audience to a certain part of the photo, in this instance the leading lines direct your eyes to the middle.

This photograph captures a stand-alone silhouette of a dog statue in the night. To achieve this, I place a light behind the statue. Silhouette in photos make the audience take a closer look as the absence of light makes it less obvious to what you are viewing. I chose to capture this statue as it represents my love for dogs and has always been something that has drawn me to it.

The final photo is of the road I have grown up on. It is a busy road with a constant flow of traffic, no matter the time. This is why I chose to use a long exposure to capture the road as it gives the photo a lovely blur effect from the passing traffic reflecting its busyness.
