Semester one module: Korean

Welcome to York St John University’s Korean Language Programme.

Before starting the course, please familiarise yourself with Hangul (Korean writing script) as much as you can. You should be able to read and write basic Korean words after 10-20 hours of study. If you have studied Korean before, please review what you have done, and polish up and develop your skills.

Here’s the list of online resources for self-study.

http://korean.sogang.ac.kr (very comprehensive website for integrated skills. If you are a Mac user like me, ignore the initial page and click the bottom line of the screen. The link will redirect the website)

https://www.memrise.com/courses/english/korean/ (It’s website/application for vocabulary review (i.e., memorizing words). You may choose a Korean textbook you want to review. The website/application prompts simple questions that help you to memorize words)
