The importance of Twitter

Kat Langley attended the Association of Law Teachers (ALT) Annual Conference hosted virtually by Aston University. The conference theme was disrupting legal education. Kat has sat on the executive committee of the ALT for a number of years, but during the conference was elected as membership secretary for the association. In addition to this change in roles, Kat presented a paper with a colleague from Leeds Beckett University. Their paper was entitled : “The importance of Twitter in supporting an academic community; reflection on the planning and execution of the inaugural ALT Early Career symposium and beyond.” The paper looked at ways in which early career academics can and are supported by online communities, especially with the impact of Covid. The conference was very useful as a method of reflecting on the challenges of the last year, and even featured a bedtime story from Lady Hale, and a virtual cook-along!
