Session formats

Regardless of your career stage, we encourage you to consider submitting a proposal for our conference. Institutional teaching and learning conferences are very supportive and developmental events within which to test out your ideas and hone your presentation skills. Please consider submitting against one of the following formats:

  1. Workshop – A live practical session designed to be engaging and interactive, lasting 45-60 minutes
  1. Presentation – A short presentation, lasting 15-20 mins, with 10 mins for questions
  1. Panel – A live discussion event with an expert panel of two or more speakers, lasting around 60 minutes
  1. Poster – An A1 printed poster, typically linked to findings from research-related projects. Presenters are given the opportunity to talk to delegates about their work at specific times
  1. Creative response – A creative or experimental format – e.g. an artwork or activity. We are open to suggestions, but the artifact or session should be suitable for display or delivery in the YSJ Creative Centre.

Conference presenters will also have the opportunity to prepare a written version of their contribution for TATL – the YSJ Talk About Teaching and Learning Blog.
