HELIX update
Gareth has just given me an update on HELIX media server installation.
They have the hardware all in place now (and the storage is now connected to the network successfully). The next job is to do the server install (Adrian will be taking charge there).
EIS are just awaiting an answer regarding whether the server will need to be on the domain (more complex and requiring placement on our server subnet) or in a workgroup of its own (easier and requiring placement on the DMZ subnet) and then they’re ready to get the virtual box built.
On another related matter, I discovered that YSJ has a campus licence of Camtasia Relay, which can be used for lecture capture and works directly with HELIX. Based on the issues we’ve been experiencing with Crestron recently, this is definitely something worth taking a look at. See the next blog post for more information.
