Education studies

As we approach the end of our first semester in year 1 of Education studies, I felt it important to update on Uni life so far.

The link below will take you to the course overview

Things that I have found useful so far are

  • Welcome week is good opportunity to meet people on your curse and find out more about them
  • The lectures are not scary and will help you, talk to them.
  • work at effective note taking, there is nothing worse than arriving home and being unable to read what you have wrote
  • Take time for yourself, find a hobby, join a club..do something for fun.
  • Referencing is more time consuming than difficult, keep going you will get there
  • Ask for student discount every time you buy something, the works, Peacocks and shoe zone are just a few examples of shops that offer discount.
  • get a student account with amazon, 10% off books
  • If you sat at an assignment for hours and its not working then, take a break and come back to it
  • attend tutorials they are great chance to chat to the lecturer
  • read your feedback and take it onboard from a constructive point of view
  • save your work in more than one place, nothing worse than losing that USB stick believe me!

Germany, Hamburg

In February 2018, i visited Hamburg for a well needed detox from reality. Alongside a group of friends, i went for the week and it didn’t disappoint.

We spent our week in the popular destination that is known as the Reeperbahn in Saint Pauli. The Reeperbahn is well known for it’s nightclubs and party district. With the 99 cent bar especially, the Reeperbahn is a popular location. It is safe to say that the Beautiful city of Hamburg , both in day and night, provided us with a great time.

In the day time i spent my time visiting my Hamburger friends, shopping and visiting highly reviewed food places ‘every tourist should visit’. From my heaven which is also well known as Sephora, to burger restaurants, Hamburg sure kept me busy with its never ending supply of fabulous surprises.

My trip to Russia

In the summer of 2016, i travelled to Russia. Funded by Erasmus+, representing Up4change charity and Liverpool. Alongside my group members, i travelled over 24 hours and in the end reached the wonderful region of Tyumen. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the other 50 wonderful participants. Over two weeks, we completed a bunch of fun activities based around human rights, with the theme of ‘Unlock your mind’.

These trips are organised with the intent to spread peace, whilst encouraging young people to be confident. From group work to public speaking, i can say these trips have helped me a magnificent amount. Furthermore, i have had the pleasure of watching others become more comfortable in themselves and gain more confidence as a result of these trips.

if you ever get the chance to participate, i would 100% recommend you do.
