Petition to Require BSL Interpreters for emergency announcements on TV

Whilst this petition didn’t reach the 100k votes it set out to achieve, the government did respond to it.

The Government has assessed that in accordance with PHE guidelines, we cannot safely include a BSL interpreter in the room for daily briefings without potentially putting them and others at risk

Essentially, they couldn’t bring a BSL interpreter into the room because it would put them at risk of catching COVID-19. Yet, the Welsh Government has one? So… if the risk exists (which it most certainly does), they’re saying that it’s worth the risk.
