The Times / Sunday Times Good University Guide is one of the most respected University rankings tables in the UK.

In the 2020 league table, released on Sunday 22nd September, York St John is tenth in the country for Teaching Quality and has also shot up the league tables with a 21 place rise in the rankings.

The University has been placed 81st, which shows a rise of 21 places compared to 2019 and 37 places in comparison to 2018. This follows a rise of 12 places in the latest Guardian league table.

Professor Karen Stanton, Vice Chancellor of York St John said: “I am delighted that York St John has been named as the fastest rising university in the North for the 2nd year running, and indeed that our climb of 21 places in the rankings is even better than last year. We put the student experience at the heart of everything that we do, and are constantly striving to enhance our offer to students. This rise in the rankings, bolstered by another year of strong NSS results, shows that this work is really making an impact. That our teaching quality is also rated so highly in the regional table reflects the dedication and commitment of our fantastic staff and I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank them for their efforts.”

The improved league table performance has followed excellent results for York St John in the latest National Student Survey, with 86% overall satisfaction, which has placed the University 27th out of 122 Higher Education Institutions in England.

York St John has also performed very well in the latest Destinations of Leavers in Higher Education Survey, which showed that 96.9% of our students are in employment or further study within six months of graduating, an outstanding result which represents 23rd place out of the 153 institutions within the survey.
