These creative and inspirational women will share their stories on how they got to where they are today and share their insights into being a woman in business and answer questions put to them by the audience.

York Top 100 Businesses Awards event

York Business School at York St John University and Make It York, in conjunction with the York Press, are once again producing a list of the Top 100 Businesses registered in York. With detailed analysis of each business and insightful editorial and business profiles, the list showcases the city’s most significant businesses and celebrates the contribution they make to the city’s economy.
This event will bring the leaders of these businesses together with city leaders and leading business support organisations to launch the 2nd publication of the list . As last year, the report will be available as a supplement in Wednesday’s York Press with a glossy version available thereafter.

Department for International Trade Seminar Series

Futures and Foresight – Taster Workshop

Futures and Foresight is the interdisciplinary process to discover and understand possible, plausible, probable, desirable and creatable long-term futures. For leaders of organisations, the integration of Futures and Foresight skills into their activities means they can more effectively anticipate and influence the future and work towards their preferred future. The purpose of the workshops is to provide an introduction to Futures and Foresight.

Founded in 1922, the British Broadcasting Corporation has been at the heart of every major national and international news story in its 96 year history. With over 22,000 employees and revenue of £4.889 Billion, it is one of largest players in communications across the world. The three letters ‘BBC’ are recognised instantly by most of the world’s population. As a business majority funded by licence fees it faces many challenges from an ever changing broadcast world.
Tim Smith started as a journalist and recently left the role of Head of BBC Yorkshire to take up a role concentrating on BBC Business.
Tim will be joining us for the latest in the York Business School series ‘The Business Of…’ for an insightful and interesting conversation with Jon Hammond Booth, former Radio and TV presenter and Governor of York St John University.
