Review of Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

This novel is hauntingly bittersweet as it follows Kathy’s joys and disappointments in life as she learns to live with the confronting reality that her life or the lives of her loved ones could end at any moment. The subtlety of the science fiction traits makes you feel that it is quite possible that the horrors that Kathy and her friends are subjected to might already be happening. This is an emotionally complex read that asks us to think about what it means to be human and reminds us that there is beauty in our deeply human need to make connections.
