We would like the activities to be proposed and organised by PGRs for PGRs.
We are seeking short proposals of activities to take place this academic year (2022-2023). We are able to award up to £200 per project and hope to support at least 5 projects.
Activities might include, for example, providing one-off PGR events, talks, or workshops, or establishing PGR networks or PGR societies.
To be eligible to apply for the fund, you must be a PGR at YSJU.
Applications will be assessed in terms of impact (how much PGRs may benefit), reach (how many PGRs benefit) and sustainability (will the activity or its impact continue on) used to distinguish between proposals, if we receive more applications than we can support.
We cannot accept applications for activities that have already happened or been paid for before the application deadline.
We have an exciting PGR Research Skills Programme at YSJU that provides essential research training.
However, you may also need more specialist, technical, and discipline specific training as a PGR. With this in mind, we are pleased to offer funding to support research training activities of this kind.
This funding is available to PGRs so they can direct research training activities that benefit themselves, their peers and other members of the wider academic community.
We envisage that the activities will be driven by the technical needs specific to PGRs, research groups, units and institutes.
The funding can be applied for to support the upskilling of those working on research projects and that would benefit others within the same discipline or across disciplines.
We are able to award up to £400 per activity and hope to support 9 applications.
If we receive more applications than we can support, consideration will be given to the immediate and long term benefit, and spread of activities across YSJU academic schools.
We cannot accept applications for activities that have already happened or been paid for before the application deadline.
Activities can include workshops, training, engagement with industry, academic and non-academic partners, and other activities aimed at increasing professional skills, transferable skills, and employment opportunities.
We are seeking short proposals for activities to take place this academic year (2022 - 2023). We are able to award up to £400 for each activity and hope to support at least 9 applications.
Applications will be evaluated against criteria of the degree to which the activity will likely increase employability and value for money, to distinguish between proposals, if necessary.
We cannot accept applications for activities that have already happened or been paid for before the application deadline.
