Project Lead: Helen Pleasance
Student as Researchers: Charlotte Brindley, Heather Lukins, Matthew Payne & Lauren Davies
Clothes have both practical and symbolic function; help keep us warm but also creates social and personal identities in which we communicate with each other. From their production to their consumption, clothes tell stories of our global relations to each other. Helen Pleasance aims to collect a textual fabric to represent these patterns, with the help of her student as researchers, collect 100 qualitative interviews about individuals ‘clothes stories’ and put on a visual display in May 2018. They will be working with Fashion Revolution’s database to collect and collate global ‘clothes stories’.
