Celebrating York St John Couples (and lots of babies!) on Valentine’s Day #YSJUCouple – Part 2

Following on from part one of our Valentine’s Day Blog this morning, here’s part two! We’re so proud that York St John University was the start of so many romances, marriages and even families. Read on for more on our#YSJUCouples.Benjamin and Leanne

Benjamin Hepworth was on the T,F,TV course and his wife Leanne was on the Occupational Therapy course between 2004-2007. They met through a friend and now have two daughters.

Phil and Becky

Becky Baxter and Phil Marsden both studied from 06 to 09. They also both ran for sabbatical positions in their third year which got them talking more! They have just welcomed the arrival of their St John’s Baby, Erin on 1/1/17. Phil said, “York is very special to both of us and we can’t wait to take her to look round especially Lord Mayor’s Walk campus!”

David and Alice

David Hall and his now wife, Allie Hall, both majored in Environmental Science, 1997 – 2000. They then married in 2008.

Pat and Gill

Patrick Neal met his wife Gill (nee Fearon) in the Students’ Union bar in 1983.

Becky and Andrew

Becky and Andrew Filder met at YSJU in 2011. They did their undergraduate degrees and PGCEs together before getting married last August so are now celebrating their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple.

Rob and Lauren

Rob Llewellyn met his wife Lauren at YSJU in 2004. Rob tells us, “Although I was throwing up outside the union the first time she laid eyes on me, it didn’t put her off. I was studying business management while she was on the English Language Course. Had the time of our lives at St. John’s.” Rob and Lauren graduated in 2006 and now have a daughter, Layla.

Anne and David Oates met when he crashed a party she was at in third year. A week later they bumped into each other in the Students’ Union (having never met before the party!). Within two months they booked a holiday to Rome during reading week the following January which turned out to be as fun as it was disastrous! Being from opposite ends of the country they’ve spent quite a few months of our relationship apart at various times. They graduated on the same day in 2006, got engaged in 2010, married in 2011 and are expecting their first child in March. Congratulations!

Congratulations to all our #YSJUCouples. There’s a lot of love out there! Happy Valentine’s Day.
