Heritage Room Seeking Alumni Items
Do you know what it’s like to move house? I do. I’ve moved three times in the past four years! Every time there’s a quandary when coming across things from the past. I no longer want certain things but it would be a shame to throw them away. But who to give them to?
The Heritage Room is going on record as being very interested in memorabilia, should alumni or families of alumni be looking for a grateful recipient! This week, the Heritage Room was given a large collection of college items from the 1940’s belonging to an alumnus who is moving. The contents of the latest donation could well be used as a suggestion list for items we collect: photographs, papers, badges, books, certificates, student work, esamination papers, correspondence, fixture cards, and college clothing.
There are now 700 items in our Heritage Room inventory, and though we live in a small room, we will find room for more artefacts! Please get in touch with Peter Monether at p.monether@yorks.ac.uk to donate or discuss possibilities including loans of items to be returned at an agreed-upon date.
